Life Lines

For this project, I had created my images with the intention of referencing the materiality of a photograph, the temporality of an image, and the passing of time. I had from the start wanted to manipulate the quality of the paper I print on, in order to bring light to the fact that it is a material that is malleable and susceptible to physical distortions. I wanted to do this in a way that was still visually appealing, and corresponded with the actual images I decide to print. Thus I came to a decision to use photographs that feature a human presence, and to use the manipulation of the paper itself to bring life and form to my subjects.
